In the twilight’s hush, an older man stands, Cradling a fragile life, a new soul. His firstborn is nestled in the crook of his hands, his eyes reflecting dreams and futures untold.
Oh, the weight of years, heavy on his brow, Fear’s whisper threads through each gentle caress, A dance with time, questioning the how, Life’s clockwork ticks, adding to the stress.
Fatherhood’s mantle donned late in the day Brings whispers of doubt and shadows of regret, Yet love’s fierce flame in his heart finds its way, A beacon of hope in life’s silhouette.
Shall I see you grow, your triumphs, your tears? Or will the years steal me before then? In each breath, a prayer, each heartbeat, a cheer, For moments, precious, never again.
Oh, to guide your steps, to teach you to soar, To share the wisdom from a life well-spent, To shield you from storms, be your anchor’s core, In this vast sea of life’s fierce torment.
The moon climbs higher, casting silver light, Illuminating both joy and despair, He stands resolute, embracing the night, Holding tight to love’s tender, silent prayer.
